Damansara MP Tony Pua said one of the reasons for the rise in cases of Covid-19 was a delay in the implementation of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme which was due to a lack of vaccines.

He said the government should have planned ahead and ordered vaccines earlier, like several other countries which already placed orders even before they had been approved.

According to Pua the government could have ordered the vaccines earlier and set conditions while they waited for the vaccines to get approved.
