Parts of central China have seen the heaviest rainfalls there in decades. At least 33 people have been killed, and tens of thousands evacuated. Local media report there have been direct economic losses of more than 200 million dollars so far. Officials say they are doing everything they can to address the crisis. Our China correspondent Bill Birtles says the rain event has now affected large swathes of central China.
