Congress, DMK and Shiv Sena MPs protested against the alleged Pegasus snooping controversy in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside Parliament premises on July 23. The protesting MPs demanded a Supreme Court-monitored judicial probe in this matter.

The MPs carried banners with the slogan ‘Pegausus Snoop Gate’. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, “We've two agenda items: Citizen's data privacy & security and cyber security. This issue ('Pegasus Project' media report) comes under these agendas. Standing committee has right to question govt secretaries. We demand a sitting SC judge-led judicial probe”.
