A case of Etah variant of Corona has been found in Mangaluru, Karnataka on 5th August. According to reports, this variant has been found in a person who came from Dubai. The World Health Organization (WHO) had identified this variant in the last month of the year 2020 i.e. December. In March this year, WHO placed the Eta variant in the category of Variant of Interest (VOI). According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the eta variant was first found in the United Kingdom and Nigeria in December 2020. Before Karnataka, two cases of this variant were reported in Mizoram. Let us know what is the Eta variant and is it a matter of concern?

कर्नाटक के मेंगलुरू में 5 अगस्त को कोरोना का एटा वैरिएंट का एक मामला मिला है। खबरों के मुताबिक दुबई से आए व्यक्ति में यह वैरिएंट मिला है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने वर्ष 2020 के आखिरी महीने यानी दिसंबर में इस वैरिएंट की पहचान की थी। इसी साल मार्च में WHO ने एटा वैरिएंट को वैरिएंट ऑफ इंटरेस्‍ट (VOI) के श्रेणी में रखा था। यूएस सेंटर फॉर डिजीज कंट्रोल एंड प्रिवेंशन (CDC) के अनुसार दिसंबर 2020 में एटा वैरिएंट पहली बार यूनाइटेड क‍िंगडम और नाइजीरिया में मिला था। कनार्टक से पहले मिजोरम में इस वैरिएंट के दो मामले सामने आए थे। आइए जानते है क‍ि क्‍या है एटा वैरिएंट और क्‍या ये चिंता का विषय है?
