The Health Ministry reported 24,599 new Covid-19 cases, a record high partly contributed by the worsening situation beyond the Klang Valley.
Three states hit record highs today, all outside the Klang Valley. They are Sabah, Penang and Johor.
Sabah reported 3,487 infections, the third day in a row where cases in the state were above 3,000.
Meanwhile, Johor broke 2,000 cases for the first time, hitting a record 2,785.
