Walgreens Raises Minimum Wage , to $15 an Hour.
On Aug. 31, the pharmacy store chain became the latest major company to increase its starting pay in an attempt to attract new workers.
According to a company statement,
the increase will be implemented in
phases beginning in October.
It will be in full effect by November 2022.
Walgreens Boots Alliance CEO Roz Brewer said company leaders view the pay increase as an essential investment.

To cover the wage increase, Walgreens expects to spend $450 million over the next three years in addition to "partially absorb[ing] the investment through the normal course of business.".
