Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has been shortlisted for the 2018/19 Uefa Men’s Player of the Year Award alongside Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo. The winner is due to be announced on Thursday 29 August in Monaco during the draw for the group stages of the Champions League.
