Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sanjay Upadhyay has withdrawn his nomination from the by-election for a Rajya Sabha seat in Maharashtra. He withdrew his nomination on the instructions of the party leadership. Giving information about this, Sanjay Upadhyay himself said that it was decided in the meeting of the party core committee that I have to withdraw my candidature. So being an obedient worker of the party, I complied and withdrew. After the withdrawal of Sanjay Upadhyay, the way has been cleared for Congress leader Rajni Patil.

महाराष्ट्र में राज्यसभा की एक सीट के लिए हो रहे उपचुनाव से भारतीय जनता पार्टी के उम्मीदवार संजय उपाध्याय ने अपना नामांकन वापस ले लिया है।उन्होंने पार्टी नेतृत्व के निर्देश पर अपना नाम वापस ले लिया. संजय उपाध्याय ने खुद इसकी जानकारी देते हुए कहा कि पार्टी कोर कमेटी की मीटिंग में तय हुआ कि मुझे अपनी उम्मीदवारी वापस लेनी है। ऐसे में पार्टी के एक आज्ञाकारी कार्यकर्ता होने के नाते, मैंने इसका पालन किया और नाम वापस ले लिया। संजय उपाध्याय के नाम वापस लेने के बाद कांग्रेस नेता रजनी पाटिल का रास्ता साफ हो गया है,
