Soman Chainani, author of the bestselling “The School for Good and Evil” series, talks about the upcoming movie adaptation by Netflix during a conversation with Salon’s D. Watkins. “It’s a whole new kind of fantasy school,” Chainani says, “so much more diverse than what you get from ‘Potter.’” Directed by Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids”) and starring Kerry Washington and Charlize Theron, the movie is set to premiere in 2022.
