A car bomb targeting the governor's convoy shook the Yemeni city of Aden on Sunday (October 10).
Several people were killed and injured in the attack, according to security and military sources.
Governor Ahmed Lamlas and agriculture minister Salem al-Suqatri survived what the state news agency called a "terrorist assassination attempt".
Both are members of a southern separatist group, known as the Southern Transitional Council.
