Early on October 11, Kashmir witnessed the first snowfall of the season. Sadhna Top in Karnah, Kupwara was covered in snow on October 11 morning. Zoji La Pass also witnessed snowfall. Rain lashed other parts of the region on October 11.  Kangdoori in Gulmarg and Z-Gali Machil in Kupwara, too, were covered in snow. Amarnath Cave Temple in Anantnag also received snowfall. Minimum temperatures in the upper reaches of the valley dropped following the snowfall.
