Mumbai, the financial capital of the country did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in 24 hours for the first time since March 26, 2020. The city recorded 367cases on October 17. Mumbai was one of the worst-affected cities during the pandemic. “This is great news for all of us in Mumbai,” Iqbal Singh Chahal, Mumbai Civic Commissioner told PTI. Aaditya Thackeray, Maharashtra minister tweeted, “Mumbai today has recorded zero covid deaths, first time since 26th March 2020.” On October 17, Maharashtra had 28,631 active cases. Meanwhile, India reported 14,146 fresh cases, lowest daily rise in Covid-19 cases since early March. 14 deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours. Watch the video to know more.
