Stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, whose three shows were cancelled in Mumbai, says that he gets daily threat calls and is not being allowed to work. He had recently posted a video, appealing his 'haters' not to attack his shows and supporters. 'Don't push me to quit comedy, my mental health has gone for a toss,' he had said in the video.
Days later, he had to cancel his shows, scheduled for 29, 30, and 31 October, over safety concerns of his audience, after members of Bajrang Dal threatened to 'burn down the venue'.
