'Nahay-Khay' which means to eat only after taking a bath. On this day all the women of the house especially women take holy bath, some people even go to the river on this day and take bath. All the ladies in the family follow the practice of 'Nahae-Khaye' with utmost devotion and after that together they prepare sattvik food for the whole house and yes it is needless to say that women play a major role in this festival.

‘नहाय-खाय’ जिसका अर्थ है नहाने के बाद ही खाना। इस दिन घर के सभी खासकर महिलाएं पवित्र स्नान करती है, कुछ लोग तो आज के दिन नदी भी जाकर स्नान करते हैं। परिवार में सभी महिआएं ‘नहाए-खाए’ की प्रथा को पूरी निष्ठा से पूरा करती हैं और उसके बाद सभी मिलकर पूरे घर के लिए सात्विक भोजन बनाती हैं और हाँ यह कहने की जरूरत नहीं है कि महिलाएं इस उत्सव में मुख्य भूमिका निभाती हैं।
