On Monday, 119 personalities were given the Padma Shri award at the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Meanwhile, transgender folk dancer Manjamma Jogathi, born in Kallukamba village of Bellary district of Karnataka, has been honored with the Padma Shri award. Manjamma Jogathi says that she has faced many difficulties in establishing her identity by being transgender.

राष्ट्रपति भवन के दरबार हॉल में सोमवार को 119 शख्सियतों को पदमश्री अवॉर्ड दिया गया. इस दौरान कर्नाटक के बेल्लारी जिले के कल्लुकम्बा गांव में जन्मी ट्रांसजेंडर फोक डांसर मंजम्मा जोगाठी को पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से सम्मामित किया गया है. मंजम्मा जोगाठी का कहना है कि ट्रांसजेंडर होकर अपनी पहचान बनाने में उन्होंने कई मुश्किलों का सामना किया है.
