The Senate began its debate today of a motion by Independent Senator Anthony Vieira who is calling on the Senate to establish a Select Committee to consider and report on a code of ethical conduct and behavior for Senators.

However, his motion makes specific reference to the Opposition Senators.

Senator Vieira says he does not want any of them suspended or expelled from the Senate.

This, as at one point, some of the Opposition Senators walked out of the debate .
