Price of tomatoes is on a high. The price of tomatoes has spiraled following heavy rains and floods in Tamil Nadu, parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In many southern states, people are paying Rs 120 for one kg of tomatoes. As per an NDTV report, Tamil Nadu’s Chennai is the worst affected with the price of tomatoes touching as high as Rs 140 per kg. Tomato growing areas have been damaged due to the incessant rains. Rise in diesel prices is also affecting the price of tomatoes. In Kerala, tomatoes are being sold between Rs 90 per kg to Rs 120 per kg. As per PTI, people in the national capital are paying between Rs 90 to Rs 108 for a kg of tomatoes. Watch the video to know more.
