No reason for existing vaccines to fail against Omicron, says WHO

Michael Ryan, Executive Director of the WHO's Health Emergencies Programme, said on December 7, 2021, that there was no sign Omicron would be better at evading vaccines than other variants. The new coronavirus variant was first detected in South Africa on November 24, 2021, and has since spread to more than 50 countries.
