Taxpayers will have to fork out almost $2 billion extra to finish the troubled West Gate Tunnel project. The state government was forced to tip more money after being caught up in a dispute between toll operator Transurban and the project builder. The tunnel was due to be finished next year but now it won't be ready until late 2025.
