Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed hope that some 'good news' may be received in the next 45 days on the controversial Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA). In fact, the Central Government has constituted a 5-member committee to look into the possibilities of withdrawing AFSPA from Nagaland. This committee will submit its report in 45 days. In Assam, this law is to be renewed in March 2022. Chief Minister Sarma said that a practical decision will be taken after consultation with the Center when the time comes regarding AFSPA. “As far as AFSPA is concerned, a rational decision will be taken in Assam in 2022.



Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma ने उम्मीद जताई है कि विवादित आर्म्ड फोर्सेस स्पेशल पावर ऐक्ट (AFSPA) पर अगले 45 दिनों में कोई 'गुड न्यूज' मिल सकती है। दरअसल केंद्र सरकार ने Nagaland से AFSPA को वापस लेने की संभावनाओं को देखने के लिए एक 5 सदस्यीय कमिटी का गठन किया है। यह कमिटी 45 दिनों में अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपेगी। असम में मार्च 2022 में इस कानून का रीन्यूअल होना है।मुख्यमंत्री सरमा ने कहा कि आफ्सपा को लेकर समय आने पर केंद्र से विमर्श के बाद कोई व्यावहारिक फैसला किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा, 'आफ्सपा का जहां तक सवाल है, 2022 में असम में इसको लेकर कोई तर्कसंगत फैसला लिया जाएगा।
