Police have launched an investigation after the bodies of a 47-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were discovered at a house.
Officers forced their way into the property in Swancote Road, Stechford, Birmingham after concerns were raised that the couple was not responding to calls or messages.
The tragic pair were found inside the family home and pronounced dead at around 9.30 pm on Thursday night (27/1).
West Midlands Police has sealed off the address to conduct thorough forensic examinations of the scene.
The force said the couple's family was being supported by specially trained family liaison officers and a post mortem will be carried out this afternoon (Fri).
Chief Superintendent Mat Shaer, from Birmingham East Police, said: “This is truly awful and my heart goes out to the couple’s family and friends.
“It was clear that nothing could be done to save the man or woman.
“No doubt this will come as a huge shock to neighbours and the local community.
"But we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were not required at the scene.
