On February 8, Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai expressed her views over the hijab row which began in Karnataka. Malala, the girls’ education activist tweeted, “Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women.” She said, “Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying.” Congress also attacked the BJP government in Karnataka. The hijab row began last month at the Government Girls PU College in Udupi, Karnataka. Soon after, the protest spread to other places.
