Punjab's stalwart leader and former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has lost the election from his Patiala seat. He has been defeated by Ajitpal Singh Kohli, the Aam Aadmi Party's candidate. Amarinder, who was once a strong leader of Congress, formed his own party, Punjab Lok Congress, after being removed from the post of CM. He and former Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa's party forged an alliance with the BJP in the Punjab Assembly elections.

पंजाब के कद्दावर नेता और former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh अपनी Patiala seat से चुनाव हार गये हैं. उन्हें आम आदमी पार्टी के उम्मीदवार अजीतपाल सिंह कोहली ने शिकस्त दी है.एक समय कांग्रेस के कद्दावर नेता रहे अ‍मरिंदर ने सीएम पद से हटाए जाने के बाद अपनी पार्टी, Punjab Lok Congress का गठन किया था. उनकी और पूर्व अकाली नेता सुखदेव सिंह ढींडसा की पार्टी ने पंजाब विधानसभा चुनाव में बीजेपी के साथ गठजोड़ किया था.
