Cup grows own insulating collar when hot beverage is poured in to protect hands
A team of researchers from the University of Cambridge have developed a Cup that grows its own insulating collar when a hot beverage is poured in, in order to protect the drinker's hands from the heat. The Cup, which is made from biodegradable materials, has a soluble inner lining that dissolves when it comes into contact with a hot liquid, releasing a foam that then forms a protective barrier between the drink and the user's hands. The team is currently looking for investors to bring their Cup to market
