Despite the rapid ramping of healthcare infrastructure in India during the past two years of COVID-19 pandemic, there is still a long way to go before healthcare can be accessible to all. Many marginalised communities continue to remain disadvantaged due to lack of access to basic healthcare amenities, something that was even observed during the coronavirus bouts. Against this backdrop, financialexpress.com's Tarun Bhardwaj spoke to Rajesh Ranjan Singh, CEO, WISH Foundation on how, despite having a large network of primary health centres, India still witnesses the majority of people struggling to access basic healthcare facilities. Singh also touched upon ways to improve the doctor-patient ratio in India, so that the burden on doctors and medical assistance staff can be reduced.
