Eid-ul-Fitr is also known as Meethi Eid. This festival is celebrated all over the world on the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month according to the Hijri calendar. In the Islamic calendar, this month begins with the sighting of the moon.

ईद-उल-फितर को मीठी ईद के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। हिज़री कैलेंडर के अनुसार दसवें महीने यानी शव्वाल के पहले दिन ये त्योहार दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है। इस्लामी कैलेंडर में ये महीना चांद देखने के साथ शुरू होता है।
