Many states of the country are facing power crisis these days, the main reason behind the power crisis is said to be increase in demand and shortage of coal, according to a report. Electricity demand in India has increased by 13.6% to reach 132.98 billion units in the month of April. In April last year, the electricity consumption in the country was 117.08 billion units. Since the beginning of April, Jharkhand has been facing an average power supply shortfall of 10-12 per cent, followed by Andhra Pradesh (10%), Uttarakhand (8-10%), Madhya Pradesh (6%) and Haryana ( is experiencing an average power supply shortfall of 4%)
