Local body elections will be held in Maharashtra without OBC reservation. The Supreme Court has also ordered the government to issue notification of elections in two weeks. The court dismissed the application saying that reservation will not be given to OBCs without the triple test. Apart from the state government, the Supreme Court has also directed the Maharashtra State Election Commission to make preparations to conduct elections to 2448 local bodies in the state.

महाराष्ट्र में ओबीसी आरक्षण के बगैर ही स्थानीय निकाय चुनाव होंगे. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सरकार को दो हफ्ते में चुनाव की अधिसूचना जारी करने के आदेश भी दिए हैं. कोर्ट ने ये कहते हुए अर्जी खारिज कर दी कि ट्रिपल टेस्ट के बिना OBC को आरक्षण नहीं दिया जाएगा. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार के अलावा महाराष्ट्र राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग को भी निर्देश दिया है कि राज्य में 2448 स्थानीय निकायों के चुनाव कराने की तैयारी करे.
