On May 10, Cyclone Asani neared the east coast, packing gale-force winds up to 105 kmph. This comes amid indication of gradual weakening. On May 8, the cyclone was moving at a speed of 25 kmph. Now, it has slowed down to 5 kmph as it lays centered around 300 km southeast of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and 510 km south-southwest of Gopalpur in Odisha. As per the weather department, the system is expected to recurve on May 10 night and move parallel to the coast in the north-northeast direction. On May 10, flight operations in Tamil Nadu's Chennai & Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam were also affected. Several flights were cancelled. Watch the video to know more.
