Indonesian fried rice aka nasi goreng kampung, I ate this dish a lot while growing up, even until now, it becomes my go-to-dish when I am in a hurry. Done in 10 mins, I would probably eat this fried rice indonesian style on its own, but I happen to know it is also great as a side with things like crispy fried egg and served with fried shallots, scallions and lime.
The secret in making the perfect fried rice is using chilled cooked rice or leftover fried rice, because the grains are separate and drier which makes easier to cook in the wok. If you use warm cooked rice, you’ll end up with soggy fried rice, which is unpleasant to eat.
This homemade fried rice is wildly addictive, believe me, there’s no reason for not trying this. It is that good!
