Two murders reportedly took place in Chennai on May 18. A 36-year-old Chennai man, who had six different cases pending against him, was hacked to death by four unidentified men on Wednesday. The victim, identified as S Arumugam from Chetpet ran a finance company.

In the other incident, a 19-year-old man was hacked to death by three people in Korukkupet on Wednesday night for allegedly not providing them with "promised pain killers", which they used to get high.
