In a show, KK had told- When I was in Delhi, people used to call me KK themselves. When he came to Mumbai, Krishna Kumar did it. But in Mumbai everyone used to say who Krishna Kumar, the one who has come from Delhi, KK. Then thought why keep the confusion of two names. Keep the name by which people lovingly call it. That's where I became KK.

एक शो में केके ने बताया था- जब दिल्ली में था तो लोग मुझे खुद केके बुलाते थे. मुंबई आया तो कृष्ण कुमार कर दिया. लेकिन मुंबई में सब यही बोलते थे कि कौन कृष्ण कुमार, वो जो दिल्ली से आया है केके. फिर सोचा क्यों दो नाम का कंफ्यूजन रखो. लोग जिस नाम से प्यार से बुलाते हैं वहीं नाम रख दो. बस यहीं से मैं केके हो गया.
