Monday's tumultuous session finished on a flat note for the Sensex and Nifty 50. The BSE Sensex fell 94 points, or 0.2 percent, to 55,675, while the NSE Nifty 50 index down 0.1 percent to 16569.55. Index heavyweights like Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Asian Paints, L&T, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Axis Bank, and HDFC Bank, among others, were among the biggest contributors to the indices' decline. Broader markets fared similarly to equity front-runners. The S&P BSE SmallCap index closed at 22,740, down 35.15 points or 0.15 percent, while the S&P BSE SmallCap index settled at 26240, down 144 points or 0.5 percent.
