A curfew has been imposed in the violence-hit areas of Ranchi on Friday in the wake of protests demanding the arrest of suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad, Ranchi district administration said. According to a report by news agency PTI, some policemen were injured while they were trying to control an irate mob near Hanuman Temple, situated on Ranchi's Main Road. As per the PTI report, the police fired in air and also had to resort to lathi-charge to control the mob that spilled out on the road after Friday prayers and pelted stones and shouted slogans.
