Confident of proving a majority during the floor test to be conducted in the Maharashtra Assembly on Thursday, June 30, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to make Devendra Fadnavis the chief minister of the state, reported ABP News, citing sources. Rebel leader Eknath Shinde and his MLAs will extend support to Fadnavis during the floor test, the source added. If BJP manages to win the test, Fadnavis will take the oath alone. A second swearing-in will happen after the BJP executive meeting in which Eknath Shinde will take oath as deputy chief minister of Maharashtra. BJP and Shinde faction ministers will also be sworn in on the same day, the ABP source further said.
