A revelation by the Housing Minister that some 40 per cent of those who live in public housing owe the Housing Development Corporation just over one billion dollars.

And that debt, she says is close to what the HDC owes its contractors.

The Minister says that in some instances tenants who live in units with a rental of about two hundred and fifty dollars a month, owe the HDC fifty thousand dollars.
