: "In May 2022 while looking out at the Hampton River in Hampton, VA a great heron was spotted out on our pier with something in its beak. It turned out it was a snake. The snake tried a few times to fight back. At one point the snake looks like it's trying to "play dead." The heron eventually flew off with the snake in its beak.
