The BJP has called the Congress presidential election a 'farce'. Earlier, five Congress MPs wrote to the party's central election authority chairman Madhusudan Mistry, expressing concern over ‘transparency, fairness’ of the party’s presidential poll. 

Manish Tewari, Shashi Tharoor, Karti Chidambaram, Pradyut Bordoloi, and Abdul Khaleque have sought electoral rolls for electors as well as potential candidates.
