हमारे हिन्दू धर्म में भगवान विश्वकर्मा को सृष्टि का निर्माणकर्ता या शिल्पकार माना जाता है. भगवान विश्वकर्मा को ही विश्व का पहला इंजीनियर भी कहा जाता है. इसके साथ ही साथ विश्वकर्मा जी को यंत्रों का देवता भी माना जाता है. शास्त्रों में ऐसा भी कहा गया है कि ब्रह्मा जी के निर्देश के मुताबिक ही विश्वकर्मा जी ने इंद्रपुरी , द्वारिका, हस्तिनापुर, स्वर्गलोक और लंका आदि राजधानियों का निर्माण किया था. पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार विश्वकर्मा जी को ब्रह्मा जी के सातवें पुत्र के रूप में भी माना जाता है.

Along with this, Vishwakarma ji is also considered as the god of instruments. It is also said in the scriptures that according to the instructions of Brahma ji Vishwakarma built the capitals like Indrapuri, Dwarka, Hastinapur, Swargalok and Lanka etc. According to mythological beliefs, Vishwakarma ji is also considered as the seventh son of Brahma ji.
