The European Union is expected to ban crypto investments within the bloc in response to the “sham” referendum being held in Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine. In April the EU announced a restriction on Russian payments to crypto wallets to 10,000 euros in an effort to prevent digital assets from being used to bypass restrictions on large bank transfers. If passed, the new measures mean that figure could be reduced to zero.
