A pensioner was left shaken after his Ring doorbell camera captured a shocking street mugging taking place right outside his home. The OAP was left stunned when he noticed the crime unfolding outside his front door on Albion Place, in Ramsgate, Kent, which left a man crying for help on the ground. Chilling footage shows two men approaching the lone victim as he walks along the street before he is grabbed from behind by one hooded attacker. The man is then dragged to the ground in front of a parked car while the pair of thugs appear to go through his pockets and can be heard saying 'where's your wallet?' The victim repeatedly calls out 'help, help, help' but nobody comes to his aid before he exclaims: "Oh f***ing hell." The two hooded individuals ran away through a park but it is unclear what belongings they left with, if any, following the attack at 10.30pm on Friday (21/10). The 70-year-old homeowner had looked out of his window when he heard the commotion but couldn't see anything so checked the doorbell footage back. He immediately called police and the ambulance service - but the victim had already left the area by the time he had hung up. The pensioner, who does not wish to be named, said: "I was watching TV and heard shouting outside the house. "I looked out of the window, but in the dimly lit street, I could not see anything untoward. "I opened my Ring doorbell video app and was horrified to see the recording of the mugging and the victim bding dragged. "All the time, all I could hear was a man shouting “help, help, help”. "After watching the recording, I looked out of the window again and could make out where the victim was laying, so I phoned 999. "When I had hung up from the phone call, I looked out of the window a final time and the victim was nowhere to be seen. "It has reinforced what a dangerous place this area is after dark. "There's no CCTV, no police patrols, and the council allows the park trees and shrubs to grow, creating hidden zones. Drug deals are prolific. "Seeing the attack made me me feel frightened. As a 70-year-old, it is not safe here. "After I called 999, someone came to his aid and he staggered away." A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police received a third party report at 10.44pm on Friday 21 October 2022 after doorbell footage was reported to have captured a person being assaulted. "The victim is then reported to have left the area after being collected by a person driving a vehicle. "No further information was provided and no other reports were received."
