A cascade of red poppies flowing down the walls of historic Dudley Castle has been erected as a moving Remembrance tribute to Britain's fallen soldiers. The poignant art installation has been unveiled at the 11th century West Midlands landmark in the lead up to Remembrance Day commemorations next week. It features more than 350 poppies, made from recycled plastic, flowing down a 16 x 12 metre cargo net from the top of castle's keep to the cannons below. The display to honour the nation's fallen war heroes was installed on Monday (31/10) and will now be on show until the end of November. It was organised by community group Dudley Remembers and this year it is also dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Director of Dudley Zoo and Castle, Derek Grove, said: “We trialled the installation for the first-time last November and it was very well received by members of the public as it can be seen for miles around. “We’re pleased to be involved again this year and pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.”
