Ukrainian Missile Hits Poland
A Russian-made missile that killed two people in eastern Poland on Wednesday has been assessed by the US to have originated in Ukraine. This comes after American President Biden previously stated that it was ‘unlikely’ that it came from Russia after consulting allies at the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia. Other reports claim that the missile was fired by Ukrainian forces trying to intercept a Russian attack, but these claims have not yet been confirmed by the US Nation Security. According to a report by CNN Ukraine has used Russian-made missiles for air-defense and that these older weapons come from when both countries were part of the Soviet Union. An adviser to Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in regards to the missile that “when an aggressor country launches a deliberate, massive missile strike against a large country on the European continent with its obsolete Soviet-era weapons, tragedy sooner or later occurs on the territories of other states as well”.
