At the closing ceremony of 53rd International Film Festival of India or IFFI Goa, jury head Nadav Lapid called The Kashmir Files 'propaganda, vulgar* film.' The Ambassador of Israel to India, Naor Gilon were one among many who criticised Lapid. He tweeted an open letter to him, an excerpt of which read, "feel free to use liberty to sound your criticism of what you dislike in Israel but no need to reflect your frustration on other countries".
