The chancellor has launched what he calls "the most ambitious package of financial service reforms that we've had for decades", which he says will ease capital requirements for smaller lenders. But Jeremy Hunt added he was mindful of the lessons of the 2008 crisis that saw some UK banks face potential collapse and was acting "very carefully" as he loosened rules introduced in response.
