that the spill occurred in a creek
in Washington County, Kansas.
The pipeline transports oil between

The emergency shutdown of the pipeline
was issued early on December 8 after
a pressure drop was detected in the system. .
As of the evening of December 8,
crews were reportedly able to control
the downstream migration of the oil.
According to TC Energy, the affected segment
of the pipeline was isolated, and booms were
used to control the downstream migration of oil.
Two Environmental Protection Agency
regional coordinators were reportedly
dispatched to the scene of the spill.
According to the EPA, TC Energy also
deployed a response crew to begin
containment and source control. .
The crew came from Steele City, Nebraska,
which is about 20 miles north of where the spill occurred in Washington County, Kansas.
The EPA said that the spill has not impacted
drinking water wells or the public, but the
surface water of Mill Creek has been affected.
