संसद का शीकालीन सत्र जिन वजहों से चर्चा में है, उनमें एक वजह ये है कि इस सत्र में एंटी मैरिटाइम्स पाइरेसी बिल या समुद्री जलदस्युता रोधी विधेयक-2019 को लोकसभा में पास हो गया है। इस बिल को विदेश मंत्री एस.जयशंकर ने पेश किया था, जिसपर सत्ता पक्ष के सदस्यों के साथ-साथ विपक्षी दलों के सदस्यों ने भी एकजुटता दिखाते हुए, इसके पक्ष में अपना समर्थन दिया। इस विधेयक को संयुक्त राष्ट्र समुद्री कानून संधि के तहत पेश किया गया था। (One of the reasons for which the winter session of the Parliament is in discussion is that in this session the Anti-Maritimes Piracy Bill or the Anti-Maritime Piracy Bill-2019 has been passed in the Lok Sabha.
