On January 10, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the government would conduct an inquiry into the under-construction metro pillar collapse incident in Bengaluru. CM Bommai also assured of providing compensation to the victims’ family. A woman and her toddler were killed after a metro pillar collapsed near Nagavara on the outer ring road in Bengaluru. The deceased woman’s daughter and husband suffered injuries. The woman’s father said that CM Bommai must cancel the license of the contractor and only then will they take the bodies.
