When Tabassum’s friend died from HIV, the society ostracised the entire family. This was when Tabassum decided to build Snehadeep, a foundation that houses HIV infected girls in Mangaluru, treats them, and pays for their education. The foundation currently houses 21 girls of different age groups. Tabassum also handles the difficult task of reinstating a sense of optimism in the children.
