German police said on Monday that a man died after crashing a limousine into Berlin’s iconic Brandenburg Gate.Pictures from the scene showed the mangled wreck of the vehicle between two pillars of the capital’s popular sightseeing spot.Police said initial information indicated that other people were not harmed in the incident, which happened shortly before midnight.There was no immediate information about the identity of the driver.A passerby said he saw the car being driven at speed and heard the crash.Parts of the Brandenburg Gate were covered in debris but there appeared to be no major damage to the structure.
